We’ll fill the eggs with candies, inspirational messages and kind notes. We encourage you to bring your kids, friends, and family. We’d like to assemble as many eggs as possible, so we can give a lot away.

Part 2: Sunday, April 12 - Distribute Easter Eggs & Kindness in Oakland

It’s not mandatory to make it to both days, but if you can, that would be GREAT!

If you can’t make it to the Saturday event, you can help by bringing eggs you’ve assembled yourself on Sunday.

Spread Kindness: Social Experiment in San Ramon

Spread Kindness: A Social Experiment

In the frenzy of life as it is, we unite to make the world a kinder place to live. We welcome everyone to our group.

March 29th will be our first meeting as a group to do a RAOK activity together.

We'll figure out what we plan to do that day as a group - if you have ideas, please email us. If you can come out and participate, please join us!

The Goal: Reach out with a positive loving gesture to complete strangers with whom we share this world. No strings attached.

Take the time to consider how you can reach out to others, thank them and wish them a wonderful day. It is easy to forget that each one of us humans require kindness and love. Ideas: We're always open to ideas and suggestions.

If you know anyone or know of an organization that may appreciate a RAOK from our group, please let us know! There is no cost to attend this meeting, however, we may all be using our own money ($5- $10) for a RAOK activity - TBD.

So, What’s So ‘Random’ About It?

We like the phrase ‘random acts of kindness’ because it’s instantly recognizable. Pretty much everyone gets it. But the word ‘random’ is a little misleading…in a good way.

If you’re the person doing the kind act, there’s really nothing random about it at all. In fact, it’s almost always very intentional. And that’s the beauty of it. Part of the goal of SpreadKindness.org is to help people integrate kindness into their everyday life. One way for you to do that is to think intentionally, every day, about what you can do – today! - to be kind.

There’s been a lot written about the power of intent; it can be a very powerful force for good in your life, and in the lives of those around you. If you intend to be kind, you will be kind - and your kindness will inspire others to do the same. The more you practice that intent, and make it a part of your everyday thinking, the better you’ll get at it. There’s really nothing complicated or difficult about it. Think kindness. Be kind.

Kindness can become its own motive. We are made kind by being kind. - Eric Hoffer

Now…if you intentionally perform an act of kindness, it will, more often than not, surprise people. That sense of surprise, for the recipient, is what’s ‘random’. A random act of kindness, by design, comes out of the blue. Right in the middle of someone’s worries, or daily distractions, a kindness is extended to them. No rhyme, no reason, maybe even no clue as to who the kindness came from. And almost without fail, it does two things. First, it makes them feel good. Second, it makes them want to do the same for someone else. Your kindness makes them kind. And then…the kindness flows!

Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless. - Mother Teresa

These little packets of Smile Stones have been randomly appearing in the Bay Area - Did you receive one?

SpreadKindness.org has the goal of distributing over 1000 of these packets all around the Bay Area. The purpose of these packets is to spread kindness, bring a smile to your face, and give you a chance to pass along that kindness to someone else.

If you've received one, please add a comment on this blog - let us know how and where you received it, and what you'll be doing to pass it on. Also include the packet number written on the back. (The first 20 packets or so were not numbered, but the rest are.)
